someone tell me if i am wrong but if a rod/main bearing was going bad to point making noise i would loose oil pressure right??? i am hoping the bushing in the rocker is bad and making noise the engine runs about 45# oil pressure even at 185 temp

Havn't had that on Diesel, but lost rod bearings on gasser, yes oil pressure dropped. To about nothing.
Is 45# at Idle or what rpm?

Some have complained about when theirs have failed it sounded like major engine noise.... but now I see you say "ticking" noise... I didn't know what kind of noise you were speaking of. Where do you hear it at? Outside or only inside the cab? Inside the cab may be injector line rubbing up against heat core hose. Just throwing out ideas. Kinda hard unless you can hear it.

Mine has siminlar noise in the same area, from the right head. It isn't present until the engine gets warm and idles down. Mine is more like a repetitive tink tink tink sound. If I push down on the turbo heat shield it's less noticable but still there and at idle it's annoying. I'm hoping that it's rocker related and not lower.
Please report back with what you find. I'm not going to tear into mine for a while yet, too many other things ahead of it.

I have a similar problem with my truck. The sound is right behind the turbo exhaust manifold in the top pan. I listened around the engine with a screwdriver and it souns like its rocker related.
When the engine warms up you can hear it outside only with the hood up, sounds like someone tapping on the CDR with a pencil. When I get home wednesday I'm going to take a sound bite and upload if that would help.
