Hey Guys,
Does an electronic injector pump on a 6.5 require priming and if so what are the steps?
Thanks,
Hue

What year truck, I will look it up for you right now. I just looked up a 1998 turbo 6.5 and there is no specific data. The truck is equipped with an electric fuel pump, so if you cycle the key a few times the fuel should be at the injection pump quickly. I would bleed any air at the fuel filter first so the injection pump gets a nice supply of fuel.

If your lift pump is in good running order it shouldn't be to hard. Just crack the front to inj. lines on the drivers side and crank vehicle. When fuel comes out seal lines back up and start the vehicle.

Yes, you need to prime the injector lines. Check these posts out:

I did this, had fuel at the injectors in no time. I also primed the lines before putting in the glow plugs, it cranked alot easier.
