What are you guys seeing for EGTs on stock LLY. - I just finished my guage install and my pyro was reading 800-900 in 32 degree weather- 2000rpm 20ish mph.

Sounds about right. It depends on how much load is on the engine, but that is probably in line with a light-to-mid loaded engine.

yeah, that looks pretty normal.. from what I have read, I think its 1250 or 1300 that you neve want it to get..at that temp the impellars on the turbo start to glow, and then warp and things get very bad from there.

exhaust will help those EGT's as well.. if you are in a place that you can do it.

hey..I wanted to clarify my above information... here is what I read from the Banks site..I was off with the info above...

So the big question is, what constitutes excessive EGT? If everything is working properly, 1250º to 1300º F. is a safe turbine inlet temperature, even for sustained running, mile after mile. Above 1300º F. things can start to get edgy. Remember, excessive EGT damage is cumulative. Over 1400º F., you’re usually gambling against a stacked deck and it’s only a matter of time until you lose. The higher the EGT, the shorter that time will be.

thanks for the replys.. that just seemed a little high. I thought I would check and see what everone else is seeing. I also noted I run 800ish @ 2000ish rpms @ 60mph.

Just got back from a trip to Rochester from Newport. . Noticed several times, when I was rolling on the throttle at around 75 or so, my EGT's were around 1200+ with the Juice on level 1.

I will run mid to high 12's when towing long grades on level 2.
