I have a 1983 chevy scottsdale 1/2 ton 4x4. Is the from end of these trucks really 4 or 5 inches wider than the back end? Tried to load it onto a car hauler and the front end wasn't going to go through the trailer's fenders, so we turned it around and it rubbed both fenders but barely fit going on backwards. One front tire was almost half way off of the trailer, fortunately it was only going 2 miles down the road.

yes the front axel is 1.5 inches wider the the rear on each side, or a total or 3 inches

3 inches seems right. I didn't measure it on the trailer but there was a noticeable difference!
