Hey all-
Shopping for an '02 2500HD, with very specific options (I've got the time to be picky, and I'm not a big fan of the new corporate look of Chevy trucks (sorry '03+ guys! :o )). Have found several trucks exactly the way I want them, BUT they have buckets/center console instead of the 40/20/40 leather bench. I must have the bench to get all my boys and wife in this thing.

Question is-has anyone done a swap? Is it possible?

I don't have spec details from '02, but was the bench even an option on an LT? I'm afraid floor mounts, seat heater wiring etc. will be all wrong.

Kevin- Unlees I am mistaken the only way to get leather was with the A95 bucket seat option, I think that if you found a center seat section you could have a trim shop update the cloth for leather. I am working on a similar truck- 05 C/C and to get 6 passenger I had to order cloth 40/20/40 with no power for the passanger, the no leather is not a big deal for us but the non power is a issue for the wife, her side don't ya know:). Just a thought maybe someone else knows something better for you.

Thanks for the thoughts. The LS we found (but unfortunately got away from us) had a black leather interior (c/c) and 40-20-40! I guess if spec'd just right... Could have been aftermarket I guess, but if so it was the best job I've ever seen. No seat heaters, but was dual power (my wife's the same way!). We'll see what other ideas come up...

This is a pic of it, even though it is hard to see. Seems to be a harder interior color to find too (all black).

Kevin, I have an `02 GMC SLT with leather 40/20/40, so they are out there. It does come in handy, but I wouldn't want to ride in the middle seat.

GMC had the split option but Chevy didn't.

The Bose amp/sub is under the console.

Intents, I'll keep looking. Thanks for info. "Junior man" gets to ride there, probably my 7 year old!

Tim, I think the Bose started in '03, didn't it? The 'one that got away' had the stock CD radio and a bench, but it was an '02.

Kester, the LS can be ordered with the 60/40/60 and factory leather option. Same with the GMC. I have the SLT with the 60/40/60 and leather. Just order an SLE with 60/40/60 and the leather option and it will come as an SLT bench with leather.

Couldn't remember which truck got the Bose.
I only order LT or SLT and one of the 03 GMC I was going to order the w/ the split seat but lost the better sound system and some other stuff (heated seats).

Well I'll tell ya, if my split had leather, I'd swap with ya, cuz I couldn't get the buckets with my ZF-6 transmission. I've been looking for someone to swap with me.....

In 2002 I was going to purchase an off the lot 2002.......it was an LS with the leather option on a 40/20/40 seat.........problem was no heaters......forget that living in the Northeast. Plus I have found GM's leather to be quite lacking in quality and the rear seat on the Crew Cab was leatherette or leather like not the real deal. :confused:

It was available to dress up an LS without the cost of the power seats and the ON-STAR......

Most have stated that the Buckets are better for seating than the bench is.
