: Trade my 03 2500hd for a dodge
renagade 11-24-2004, 08:56 PM I am going to trade my 03 2500HD in for the Dodge. Are there any things I should look for? Like features addons that are good or bad to have. Is the 05 Dodge tranny any good with the Cummons.
My 03 has been garaged kept and in brand new condition. 15k on it, and every option you could add. What is a fair trade in value?.
Any help would be appreaciated.

They have a sunroof option now I believe. They also offer GPS radio for about $1700 I think. If you want both seats power yu need Laramie package.
For sure get antispin rear, tow package, any extra lighting packages and anything heavy duty available. I got snow plow prep, skid plates, 373 rear. The auto is good stock. Questionable under extra power levels.
Not sure about 03 worth. I got 21,000 for a 2001 GMC sb crew 4x4 with 72,000 in April.
You don't get anything for any of your addon accessories so you might as well remove any you have and sell them.
Cummins600 11-25-2004, 06:59 AM The GPS and all is nice, but look at what you pay vs what you will get for them. GPS, satelite radio, leather seats usually only add $500.00 or so for trade value, but they cost you $5000.00 or more up front!!! It's all in what you want. However, add all the heavy duty factory things you can...those are the value of the truck!!
TLTBOWEN 11-25-2004, 10:13 PM Make sure the one you are looking at does not have the vibration every one is talking about. Take the truck up to 70 or so and you will feel a bad vibration through the pedals if the truck has it. The vibration is the only consistant issue I have heard about. I do not have the vibration although I do have other issues.
Just curious why are you getting rid of your truck. I am thinking abuout trading for a GMC or another Dodge both very nice vehicles.

Thanks for the heads up.
I am trading it because I am a worry freak. I drive this truck once every two weeks and worry about the Duramax diesel injector problem. I like the dodge Cummons. I know its built to go 400 thousand miles plus. I like the straight axle they still use in the front. I am going to have to settle for a cheap interior though.
BROKER 11-26-2004, 07:13 AM Renagade,GM Injector issues have you up at nite ? The Dodge will not let you sleep any more pleasant. Each to his own,but dont let the new truck bug bite you for all the wrong reasons. How about a new 05 LLY DMAX ,it would be my choice.

I went to three Dodge dealers yesterday. One that is suppose to be the biggest in Florida. Arigo Dodge. Claim to sell 900 vehicles a month. All three couldn't strike a deal with me. :( I will have to either sell the GMC or keep it. 23k was the best I could get for it with 15k on it.

That is one nice bumper on your truck. If you get some time could you PM me some info. I have heard alot about RoadArmor. Some say they ripped off Trailready and are not the legitamate maker.
gelecon 12-05-2004, 02:53 PM That price sounds pretty low. I just traded a SLE cc/duramax 4x4 (mint condition) in for a dodge with a cummins and received 25,500 with 63,000 miles and no accessories left on the truck except for new bfg's.

Dishman Dodge in Spokane Washington is selling the CTD at 1000$ below dealer invoice.... do a search on NWBombers for the link.
Ya gotta talk to Butch @ Dishman and tell him Big Bob sent you!
(Both are 2 of the best people you'll ever meet!)
tdupuis 12-06-2004, 10:14 AM Honestly, if I were you I probably wouldn't bother trading the truck. Even with trade-in you're going to be shelling out a good sum of cash for the Dodge truck, and if you only drive the thing once every two weeks it doesn't seem that it's a vehicle that you really need. I would guess you probably have another vehicle as your daily driver?
The only reason I bought a new truck in the first place is because my old truck threw a rod and had shown itself to be pretty unreliable with 173,000 miles on it (this was a '97 GMC with a 6.5). The only reason I bought the Dodge in that case was because, in my opinion, the Cummins is hands down the best diesel out there for our trucks. In 3 months I've put 10,000 miles on it (low by the standards of hot shotters, perhaps, but this is all personal driving), and I've also gone within a 1000 mile radius of base camp, so I didn't want the thing to let me down. If I only drove my truck every few weeks and had another vehicle as a daily driver, I would've just kept what I had. It doesn't make financial sense to spend that kind of money on something you barely use.
Of course, it's your money not mine so hey do whatever you want. :) Just my 2 cents.
