so my FICM was replaced under the factory warranty at 65K and tranny was running smooth as a Cadillac. now at 65.5K(LOL) its bad again. WTF. what can make the FICM go bad or is it a bad diagnosis and replacing the FICM was a temp fix? anyone?

ficm's are a rarity atleast around here. but they are really sensitive to voltage. and this would not have anything to do with your trans.

well i went back to the dealership today and the same exact codes from before (p0700, U2105, U2104 ETC) where back. The cleared the codes and inspected CAN data lines again and blah blah, and found nothing. what a strange problem to have. the symptoms are even a little different..i dunno,.

I have only seen them go bad when fuel internally leaks inside of them. I would check the harness right next to the ficm and alt just shits and grins.

recon, those are all tcm codes. communications ones to be specific. are you talking about the tcm, or the ficm. the ficm is an engine control module for your injectors. the codes are not related to that at all. but have everything to do with the tcm. and possobly a bad ground, or bad tcm. trans control module.

You have an Edge Juice, take a very close look at the two bale connectors on the engine and the wiring harness.
Any slightly bent pin or loose contact in that Bale Connector will cause you trouble.
I personally chased a U1800 code for my FICM in my 2002 for 3-4 months. I finally went through my wiring harness and discovered a few ever so slightly bent pins. Also it seemed to do it more on wet days.
A little dielectric grease on the connectors and some pis straightening was all I needed.
Next time it happens unplug the connectors and re-plug them in.
Good Luck,
;)

i just purchased the Edge Juice and its been going on for several months.
Weird thing is i replaced my TCM from Trippin at Socal thinking that was the problem. After installing it it didnt change a thing, same codes and same probs. The dealer searched for 7 work days on checking grounds, checking all CAN Data BUS lines and finally replaced the FICM. After the new FICM it worked like brand new, then about 500 miles later it started again. FYI the symptoms other that the codes is very hard shifting in 1-2 gear and staying in 4th gear until i left off the throttle. Two days ago i went back to the dealership and they cleared the codes and checked all lines and harnesses and found nothing. Here i am now another 250 miles down the road and as is well. Im just waiting for the day that it happens again..lol..
