I am looking at buying some new tires for "Dura" this week. I think that i am going to get the Firestone Destination M/T's in 285's.

I have looked all over the garages and cant seem to find anybody that has a red duramax with the white lettering out. I like it on some trucks but not sure if I will on mine, and i dont want to have to get them switched if I dont like it.

Sorry, I don't have any pics. I use to have a '00 GMC 1500 with the white lettering out, it was lowered and hauled. Kind of a race truck look. I personally think you might regret doing it with an HD, just my humble opinion.

I might regret doing what? Putting the white out or getting those tires?

I have the white lettering out on my truck. I think it is all personal opinion. Check my garage I only have one pic.

My next set of tires will have the white out too. I think it gives more depth to the tire so you can see how big the tire really is. Of course it only looks good with the white clean and the tires glossed up.

Not quite the angle you need, but hopefully close enough.

On the Firestone MT's, we have a set of 265-75-16's load range E on our grass rig at the station (1995 chevy 1 ton), and they wear out FAST. They are very soft tires, and the soft tread is obvious when turning as you hear the treads slapping the ground. When turning on concrete, the tires leave tread marks due to the soft tread. Granted there is always 2500 lbs in the bed of this truck, and that probably greatly accelerates the wear, but 2 tires just got replaced with less than 9000 miles on them. Not advising for or against, just some info. Here's a pic of the truck with the 265's

I agree, it's personal opinion, but I've always liked white letters out unless you get/have a low profile tire. I've had four red gm trucks and put w/l out on all four. Letter are out on my current truck too.

Here's mine. I'm not a fan of the black side out, have always put the white lettering out on every truck I've had. When I took delivery of my truck from the dealer, it had 210 miles on it b/c they had to bring it in from another dealership. Before it had 350 miles on it, I had already swapped the dinky stock blackwall tires out for BFG's. I think a good set of tires makes the look of a truck, and my preference has always been white lettering out.

To me, white letters out depends on the truck color and the size and pattern of the lettering.

See if the tire shop would test mount one tire black-side-out and one white-letter-out and then put the two tires on one side of your truck if you can't decide.

On stock wheels...white letters out for sure. I have never seen a Chevy with stock wheels and black wall tires that I thought looked awesome....but with the white letters I have. I prefer black wall with Chrome wheels though for the most part.

Here's a pic of mine with the 265 bald-terrains on stock wheels.

Now thats what im talking about lovette- thats the exact truck as mine, i really like the white out. thanks everybody, you can keep posting pics if you want though...haha nice looking trucks.

now help me out with this if you would.... I had BFG Mud terrains on my s10 zr2 and I like them as far as not getting stuck in the snow and they rode good but that was on a truck that is probably 3000 lbs lighter then the dura, and my dad has ran a few sets of bfg all terrains on a couple of his trucks and he saids that they were junk because they wore out to fast, like it seemed that the rubber was to soft. So now I can decide if I want to try out the Firestone Destination M/T's or stay with the BFG Mud Terrains

I thought I read on here that the Firestone M/T's wore out fast...not 100% sure though. Look into the Cooper ST's. They are supposed to last a long time and they look like a cross between an AT and MT. They are a great looking tire...you have to see them in person because the pictures I've seen online make them look too smooth.
