I remember someone posting some lb #'s for the weight capacity GM published for mounting crossbed toolboxes and also a "per rail" rating. Does anyone know where I can find these numbers??

Thanks.

no idea but I have a pile of weight in my toolbox (above 250 lbs.) and no problems.... yet. put toolbox on day after I bought truck(dec. 02). GM parts has braces you can put under rails to hold extra weight

He must have the braces because my cross bed box tore my bedrails. The rail tops are about twice as thick as Reynolds wrap.

No braces here(knock on wood) I'll get a part # for all, think they're about 25.00 or so. It's listed on a TSB,have to look it up tomorrow

Yeah, that is my only concern about going with the GM instead of the Ford. It seems that the ford has thicker sheetmetal, at least when comparing by feel and by looking at the number of dents in GM trucks vs. Fords....

Well I hope it is more than this or maybe it does not matter with the way they are loaded

Yeah, I'd say you are exceeding the 200lb per rail limit... :)
