I would say you would need at least a 12. I have a 9 and it just fits 37's

Your best bet is a cst 9-11" kit. If you check my garage, there are pictures of a cognito 10-12 firts with 40's then with 38's, I think that a 37 would be a little small for that kit

there is a thread that put 38" on a 6" lift with cut outs

It can be done, I am just weary about rubbing issues.

07DmaxON40S,
40's on a new body is going to be hard. It can be done but you said tell you drop down to 37's. Your better bet is to off the 40's and get the 37's. Yes you can get a lager diameter of a tire under your truck but it's the width that will kill you when you turn. The new LMM's have wheel wells that drop down more than the OBS and that makes it tuff without alot of cutting or a very tall kit. I think there is a guy running 40's with 16's on here. Try looking at the New Body thread.

You will see alot of trucks. 4wd but your 2wd is the same but with out a diff.

I have 40's on a cranked up 6" Pro Comp lift. I've been running them for 3 years now. When I put the 37" winter tires on, they look small.

Since you are 2wd, I say run a CST 9-11" w/ a 4" CST spindle

Good point ^^^ That would probaly fit.

07DmaxON40S,
I see you last truck. I take it you don't want a real wide tire and wheel that sticks out past the fenders.

The 9-11 CST would proabaly be perfect for him. I agree. The 15" 2WD lift CST makes is pretty Big...

Heres a 2wd Old body HD with that 9-11" CST + and the 4" 2WD spindle they make for the truck to give you an idea of size.
Its cranked all the way to 11" with the 4" spindle so its up pretty high at 15". At this height though, hes running 44s and 20s. This might be just a tad bigger than what youre looking for.:D

This one was done by SoCal Super Trucks in San Bernardino. DP member Roadshark's truck was lifted at that shop and he has a white new body GMC on the CST 6-8.

15" 2WD lift.
Leave the CST 9-11 kit at 9" without cranking the tortions and add the 4" 2WD spindle and youll be at about 13" which Im guessing would fit 40s no prob for a 2 wheel drive HD.

The steering angles on that setup make me wanna cringe. I can't even imagine the bumpsteer.....

I would consider a bulletproof kit with keys. If I wanted to go bigger than 12" with a 2wd it would be my only choice. You definitly wouldn't have a problem with steering angles like this CST kit.

i have a cognito 10-12in set at 11in with 41in iroks and there was very little cutting i had to do 40s will fit fine theres a guy around here with a 9-11 cst with a 4in spindle with 40s and it looks a little bit rediculous imo to much room in the wheel wells
