I am looking at replacing the stock tires before winter comes. I went through the tire data base and only found a couple of you guys mounting the BF Goodrich 265 All terrains. None mentioned any rubbing.

My question is two fold. Firstly, will the 265 fit without any problems like rubbing and secondly, has anyone had a tire dealer complain about mounting a 265 on the stock rim. I gather the 265 is 1/2" to wide for the stock rim.

Thanks in advance

PS Anyone find a good price in the Vancouver lower mainland area for these tires?

From what I have read here while researching tires the answer is Yes and Yes. However the Big Box tire centers and Discount stores seem to be the ones with the strict OEM size only policy.

You should be able to run 265's with no issues at all, at most you might have to turn the torsion bars up a little bit and then possibly a front end alignment.

I have that exact tire, and it fits with no rubbing and my t-bars are stock with no turns. Discount Tire didn't have any problems mouting them on stock rims for me.

I currently have BFG T/A 265/75/16s on stock rims with no issues at all. No t-bar crank. It shouldn't be a problem.

Im currently running the 265/75/16 E load range. No rubbing no cranking the truck rides better than new.I should have done this sooner, the factory tires are trash. CostCo did my mounting and balancing no questions asked.

Good luck you wont be sorry.

Wow. Lots of replies that exactly answered my questions. Thanks

I stopped by one of the local shops today and he mentioned dropping the load range to an "E" which is an 8 ply tire. My 5r will never match a "D" rating and the lighter tire will give me a softer ride.

Thanks again

D rating stands for 8 ply and E stands for 10 ply. A D rated 265/75/16 will carry the same amount of weight as a E rated 245/75/16. An E rated 265 will handle about 400 lbs more than the E rated 245:cool:
