I have heard alteranatives to the 4 grand of a Vetronix TII. Whats out there and does it work ? Saw the website for GMTDScan but that was OBD I. What about OBD II ?

snap on new release for their modis scaner version 7.2 has a fuctional test to set timing for my 95 k 1500 . although I have not needed to do so yet. so there is a good chance any repair shop close to you that has version 7.2 has a scaner that can help them do it.

I just ordered car code from obd-2.com I know scurfdog uses it and has good things to say about it. I'll post back in a couple of weeks after I get it and get is set up.
