what all does it take to a 1983 6.2 4x4 manual and put a 700R4 on it? can the transfer case from the manual be used on the auto?

red suburban 09-21-2007, 06:44 PM the bolt pattern on the t-case should line up, but the splines on the t-case input shaft might be differant. tranny crossmember, shifter linkage, tv cable, installing the shifter in the cab of the truck would all be needed. i would highly recommend a tranny cooler, repeat highly recommend. just out of curiosity what manual do you have and y are you getting rid of it? jdemaris 09-21-2007, 09:37 PM what all does it take to a 1983 6.2 4x4 manual and put a 700R4 on it? can the transfer case from the manual be used on the auto? Yes, but the splines must match. The transfercase that was originally used with the heavy-duty cast-iron four-speed (with granny low) has the splines that match up to a T400 automatic - 32 of them. The 700R4 and T350 use a 27 spline shaft. | ||
