Just drove it around and have a whining noise sounds like it is coming from converter but not sure is this normal have heard guys say that they rattle and make a little noise thanks for the help in advance

I have the same problem. I talked to Suncoast and they told me there are 3 sets of bearings in there and 1 of those could be bad. SO you will have to srop the tranny again and send it in. Mine did it from day 1 and now I have 15,000 miles on it and it still does good, no motivation to rip the tranny back out! Does it only do it at high rpms?

the alli whines all the time. had an 8100 before i got my first d-max and without the noise of the desel engine it was pretty loud cruising around with the windows down. just my .02

Mine seems to have a whine also. I suppose it could be the power stearing pump but it sounds like the tranny. Mine has always had this noise and with 40k on now I am not going to worry about it. I just sold my edge and my bully dog and ordered the PPE so I am not sure how much abuse my trans will take anyhow!!!:D

the problem was we inverted the c5 clutch pack by mistake all seems good now an is quiet thanks for the input
