I hooked my PC up to my truck to check for codes and came up with these:

U1301 Module 80 Class 2 Short to Battery
U1301 Module 89 Class 2 Short to Battery
U1000 Module 80 No Class 2 Comm ID Not Learned
B2470 Module 97 Daytime Running Lamps Fault

The DRL Code doesn't make sense because they seem to work fine... When I shift out of park, the lights come on.

The other three I don't know about. Can anyone tell me what those modules are and if I should be concerned? I did a search for U1301, and what I found was TCM failures, where both the U1000 and U1301 could be present...

Thanks

Was someone probing wires on your truck with a test light?

Looks like your PC adaptor is not wired correctly. I would have to look it up again, but I don't think it is supposed to provide power.

What did you use to check the codes? The reason I ask is that we often get random, false u-codes even with a tech-2. The scan tool using the data line will cause communictions to screw up sometimes, and u-codes are communications-specific codes. I would clear them and run it. But, on second thought, I can remember a remote-start causing this on one truck, and a bad ignition switch can cause similar failures.

I have a PC based scan tool by Ease (www.obd2.com (http://www.obd2.com)). The power is supplied to the scan tool by the truck. It is possible that a problem with the scanning is that the software only fully supports up to 2000. They have not released a version for 2004 yet.
