I just ordered a 7 X 14 Carmate enclosed trailer. It's a tandem with a 7,000lb gvw. I'm going to be using it for a long distance move. I'm curious if I need or should have sway control. I have a decent amount of experience with a number of different open trailers but never an enclosed.

i think on a 14' trailer sway control would be a little over kill....

I think so too, Just make sure the hitch weight is good and everything else should follow just fine

My old 7X14 Haulmark towed fine with no sway control. It had dual 3500# Dexter axles and loaded with six dirtbikes, generator, compressor, gear, and 35 gallons of water in a pressure tank weighed in right at 5900#

I have a 7x14 Timberwolf tandem axle and it didn't sway behind my last truck which was the 1500 CC, so I can't imagine that you will need anything else other than what's already mentioned.........monitor tire pressures on the trailer constantly because they will change after sitting (between uses). Also, I use a 2 5/16" ball which is overkill and keep it greased. Lastly, keep the ball about 18" or whatever your trailer manufacturer recommends, so use the right drop.

I figured it would be overkill too but just wanted to make sure. A couple local guys were telling me I would need it but they pull trailers that are 24' +. Thanks for the input.
