I`m gonna be replacing the water pump soon and the guys at the parts store asked me if it has one or two thermostats. I`ve never heard of this on a regular truck. Does the 6.5 have duel thermos and if so where are they located? I know there is one off of the top hose, but were might the other one be if it has one?

The dual t-stat config is from '97-up, part of the HD cooling upgrades with HO waterpump - some very late '96's had it, but if you see only one, then wysiwyg - now would be a good time to do the upgrade, if you plan any upgrades or do much towing

Be warey of the generic parts store thermostats for the 6.5. Get one from one of the vendors specializing in 6.5's. They are not created equal.

Dual stats are a running change during the 96 model production year.I've seen a few on early in the 1996 calendar year. You may, or not have them.

Also, I'm surprised by your sig. Why do you think the parts are so expensive? Compared to what? They seem inexpensive compared to Duramax stuff or Mercedes diesels. I'm just trying to understand.
Thanks,
Rob :)
