Treading lightly as I have Dieselplace business cards in my truck and a sticker on the window! ):h

But quote of the day was "What makes you think you need a FRPCV". My comment look if you wont warranty it,take the one off the back seat and put'er in I'll pay the labor.

I feel your pain but you'll live through it. I've been down this road once myself, but I did have some fun beating up on the rental cars though.

It'll be back and good but once she's been opened up it'll never feel quite the same. Than again I'm 40% back to the mileage when my first set went south and they're still in great balance.

No problem he's probably the same stupid azz who ran the right tub into the lift and cracked it before delivery back in 01.
Why was he driving it? To put the chrome kit on and prep it after I told them not to.They never opened a wrapper, they did enough damage! They were a bit squeamish when I was done that day. Happened in 98 also. That one he cut the wheel in clipped the car parked next to the dually. Guess he thought he was in a Caviler.

We should know tomorrow hopefully, the tech seemed cool.

I thought the tech would have to wear a tux, to work on the truck. Play soothing classical music to keep truck calm, while inder the wrench.
They do that to mine! And they Prewarm the fresh oil before they dump it into the crankcase, The techs always prewarm the tech2 connector before Plugging it in, White cotton gloves are de rigieur of course, Coolant is never tested with a barbaric bulb, it is drained into a Brandy snifter and the dedicated deathcool tester swirls the snifter between thumb and forefinger before the taste test.

The Rear end is similarly well treated, tenderly wiped prior to any exploratory action is taken, and when finished, washed thoroughly.

Fuel filter to be treated with the utmost care. No cross threading, No draining of WIF without proper precautions to prevent sample spillage. And a visually inspected free of rust filter is then prefilled with diesel and meticulously replaced, primer bulb pushed as per recommendations, and started with the utmost care. All Lubrication points are addressed with only the best grease and the proper amounts, no squeeze pleasers on the trigger thanks.

And after all that TLC is done, my truck is delivered back to my doorstep, By a polite SMIRKING YOUNG PUNK WHO I AM SURE JUST RAN THE EVER LIVIN SNOT OUT OF MY 46K @#)$*@#$)* PICKUP!

Ahh well.....

Day two~

I called at 10 ish am asking when I could pick it up,wishful thinking. Got a bit of a run around that parts were on order and they pushed it outside, not a good sign and this pissed me off.

I said wait just a minute we ordered parts,I was interrupted ,Injectors are there, that is what I was told along with a list of other stuff as the order card implied is what I replied.I was getting warm!

So I asked then what is the time line? Late Wednesday Friday morning, you can imagine. Censored I said NO WAY I need a truck way before then find me one,we'll look into it,great I said I will call later.

I hung up quite bittered I tell you. I didn't strip my tools or lock my box,I didn't conceal my Audio equipment nor lock up the center console,I'm steaming but decide to call later to further discuss as anger now would get me nothing positive. That and getting mad at the service writer makes no sense as this stuff is out of their control really.

Well I called and got a Voice Mail, errrrrrgh!!

No sooner did I call I was called back by Rich a different service writer.( By the way I know this service writer some what) Well he told me that the Fenders are covered tapped and well protected. He assured me he would personally ensure it was inside. They have ordered some parts, dunno what.

He asked if the FRPCV was a Bosch OEM one and not a performance one. :D I said nope and he said we'd put it on for me , but if it is not different than OEM ,we will warranty it as yours is shot and return yours to get your money back. Thanks dude!! (I have one for sale boys)
Also said GM will pay for my Delvac Synthetic and to take mine back home.AND they will put MY Mobil One Erl filter on and give me a Delco to use at my leisure.

I feel better!! :)

I told him forget the truck I can make arrangements as a compromise for their positive attention. That and I bought my plow truck today, more on that later. But a teaser 88 Bowtie Dually dump 4x4 with a big ass plow hanging out front. LIL ruff but that's what Sundays are for, pics in a day or two.

So no Max till Friday I'll live, maybe!

Eric lemme know what's going on on the Tech forum. :D

Yup what Juice said. They were known to fail or weaken in the 01's.This resulted in a fluctuating idle (lop) when hot that can be masked with additives. My idle was horrible to say the least. GM (Bosch) redesigned with a stiffer spring of stainless I believe. Maybe I should dissect mine and ................

Is it that obvious I'm tired? Man you hit the nail on the head,I've been a bear lately you should ask my wife! :o

Working, thinking, planning, executing seven days a week has been beating me up a bit.Have a lot on my plate since September, going to get worse before it gets better I'm afraid. :(

Actually he is and it will be known when I get my GM survey! He called me today to say injectors done waiting on a FRPCV. Said they will put mine in and give me the GM one and I can pick up the truck.

Since it's raining ( ):h) I said I'll pick it up Friday when the ordered FRPCV comes in.I asked will it be inside they said they are taking excellent care of my truck,it's on the lift and of course inside.

Dude is doing me right !!!!! Things are looking up,Looking real good,it's gonna be a keeper! I think I over worried this and this dealer ship may just be a good one in my neck of the woods! I believe my talk with ***** when he upgraded my Tech II really went some where.

I had to have the FRPCV replaced on my 03 back in Sept. The dealer said its become a common problem. It ran much better when I picked it up 3 days later, they also sprung for a rental truck because I told them i need a truck if they are going to have mine for 3 days. It was a Canyon or Colorado for $47.00 a day:eek: It worked for me...:D

I was getting an intermediate surge, much like when the Air Conditioner cycled. Also, while at a stop light with the brake applied it would surge as well. Sometimes during idle the RPM's would change from normal to a higher rpm and then back down.

Other than that man does it idle purfect and run REAL strong. Some smoke has gone away but it still can lay it out there, this could be temp related also.

Under the hood compartment looks untouched as the rest of the truck.Mechanic did an exceptional job,his name is Chris.I tell you Loehmann-Blasius Chevrolet Inc
