Before I start please know that I did try to search but never found anything that I felt described the same situation that I have.
OK my problem is when I try to close the tailgate I have to manually open the latch on the passenger side as far as possible to get the tailgate to latch. I have tried to lube the shaft that the latch rides on with no change. It is like the spring that rotates the latch back has either broke or fatigued to a point where it can no longer rotate the latch enough to allow the latch to work properly. The plastic cover on the latch and the stud that the latch catches on are both torn almost completely apart from what appears to be a lack of clearance between the two. Anyone that has had this happen please let me know. I would rather fix it myself if possible than take it to a dealer just to not have to deal with the hassel of removing my programmer but I am about ready th have my first warrenty work done.
Thanks for the help.
