: Strange bounce upon braking

Hi all,

I am experiencing some strange wheel bounce every now and then while normal braking. When I do feel it, I can just take my foot off the brakes and then start braking again without the wheel bounce/hop. It's intermittent. If I brake hard or ease in to it, I never feel it.

Is there an ABS sensor on our trucks? I've looked at the rotors and they appear to be normal...but should I remove them and have them resurfaced to make sure they aren't warped?

My shocks are new Bilsteins so I know that's not an issue. Maybe I should mention that the truck sits level because the torsion bars are cranked a bit.

Any thoughts?

thanks, Binky

You nailed it. Sounds like warped rotors.

Thanks,

Now it's time to use the search and make sure I know what to do on this 4X4. I've done plenty of brakes over the years, but never on a 4X4.

it also could be the steering damper. I had the same issue, did the brakes and had two shops do alignments before this issue was discovered.
