My speedo is off since adding 35's. My question is, will the re-calibrator cause any crap with my Juice/Attitude? Also, is there a cheaper way to adjust it? $189.00 is pretty steep. Thanks in advance guys.

Use the corrected speed function of the Attitude and leave the speedo alone. That way when your ODO will read 100,000 instead of 115,000 when the time comes. Most people correct with a programmer (PowerPup, etc.) but if you feel 189.00 is steep, forget a programmer. We had a guy that actually pulled his speedo needle off and stuck it back on so it was dead-nuts at 65 mph.

Well, I might just leave it then. Probably reposition the needle just to get the speed accurate so Johnny Law doesn't nail me for speeding. Thanks

I use the Superlift Truspeed in my '02 Silverado and will be installing one in my '05 Sierra after I install the lift and 37s. I used that and a GPS to callibrate the speedo so it is right on the money!

I decided just to order the Truspeed. No sense in BS'ing about my mileage I figured.

Have the TruSpeed from the get go. Running 37/17's. Provides accurate speed information to the the TCM. Without accurate info, the TCM provides inacurate data to the ECM/ACM which will affect everything from your fuel economy to your anti-lock braking system. Welcome to the world of computerized vehicles. Good choice to get the TruSpeed.

How does the true speed work? Is it any better than the speedo recalibration that is in the Hypertech programer?

Thanks,
Andrew

DURATYS

Yes. The TruSpeed works inline with the the speed sensor on the tranny. It takes the signal frequency and recalibrates it to give the ECM your true speed. If your running something like my 37's wihout compensation, the ECM still thinks your running stock tires and the signals it puts out to everything else will be about 30% off. Since every computer module on board communicates with every other one, your going to have some performance issues.

Does the Truespeed work on a 2005 truck?
Thanks!

Pull up the SuperLift website and check. I'm fairly sure it does since GM has not changed the ECM/TCM wiring to any extent with regard to the speed sensor.

The Truspeed will work on the new motor but you have to find the right wire. I have an 04.5 and I am curently working on installing it. Working with the dealer to find the right wire. If anybody knows please share.
