Help please!! I drove up to Maine and now my truck has lots of problems.
Last service 30,000 miles ams oil synthetic + oil filter, synthetic transmission ams oil fluid and filter, new fuel pump
current mileage 34,800
1 doesn't want to start sometimes (had to prime and pump throttle this morning to start). This problem started an hour after I got to Maine
2 rough idle when cold and has done it hot
3 loud clunk when shutting down (sometimes). This morning a squeal and its not the turbo winding down
4 clunk or grinding noise coming from drive train. If I'm turning its a grinding noise and most of the time if I'm stopped at a light its a clunk when hit the throttle.
5 squeaky leaf springs ok this isn't a big deal but sucks to have a 07 that sounds 20 yrs old
mods are in garage
Thanks in advance

did you fill up the fuel soon before this started to happen?,you could have gotten a bad load of fuel,or did you mistakenly put gasoline in instead of diesel?

No gas. I guess I should start by changing my fuel filter

I had a clunking noise when I was shutting my truck down too. It ended up being the catalyc converter hitting the frame. The tech replaced it with one that had a different bend to it and it solved the problem.

That might be it my 4" exhaust was really close to the frame
Thanx

I think my fuel filter is leaking this has got to be the problem since it started after I got it changed. I searched and can't find any threads on how to change them. I'll check my owners manual I usually do this stuff my self but since I got this truck I've been lazy

well, there were some fuel filters awhile back that had pin holes causing loss of prime. Clucking can be your exhaust or if you have placed aftermarket nerf bars, check the placement and torque on them. Mine were off a little, I loosened, pushed them in further and then re-torqued. Clunking went away.

I had the clunk post install of the 5". Was bumping against the Trans crossmember. Loosened the clamps put a floor jack under the pipe and raised it so I had about 2" clearance. Then I tightened the clamps and that fixed the issue. As for the other issues, have you checked for trouble codes. When I threw a mass airflow code (water on the wire from washing) the truck ran like crap. Cleared the code and the truck ran like new.

There is a thread out there on changing the fuel filter...I followed it without problem. Keep searching...:)

if the filter is leaking you also have the possibilty of getting air in your fuel system which would explain your hard starting and having to prime. Definitely address that first
