i'm trying to find out when GM is going to offer the 6 speed automatic in the 1500 trucks.
I know that the new Denali truck has it, but i was wondering about the others.

Still using the 4L60 except the 6.0 Vortec Max which uses the 4L70, but both are 4-speeds.
There is a rumor that they may bring the 6L80 in early, maybe late in the 2008 model year.

I still dont know why they didnt bring it in when they introduced the GMT-900's. The Escalade's and Denali's get it, so what gives?

I've also heard in 09 that they are going to be putting a diesel in the 1500's. You'd think someone would have been smart enough to do that already the way gas prices are.

And Diesel prices.. which have been higher than GAS for the last 3 years.

Honestly, I have it in my wife's Denali and I'm really not impressed with it. The damn thing is constantly shifting. Any time you lighty touch the throttle, it boinks down 1 or 2 gears. Definitely not the same as an Allison.

I agree but you would think that if they tried at all they could get minimum 30 mpg out of a half ton, buts thats only if they want too!
