: Front end shimmy?

I have been having a problem with the front end on my 3500. The previous owner said that the problem was always there while he owned it. The problem is when I go to brake the front end shimmies back and forth very badly. This only happens at around 40 mph? I am very baffeled at this! I have replaced both rotors, bearings, pads, shocks, new tires and balanced them. It still is happening but worst now. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Kevin

I am not a pro on this but the only thing I can figure is something else in the front end. idler arm, pitman arm, tie rods or ball joints. According to other posts the idler arm is notorious for not lasting too long.

There is also an OEM stabilizer shock in the front suspension of my truck. I've never seen any posts on replacing that.

Not sure how you check to see if these components are bad.

I would suggest checking the front ball joints and bearings. Had a truck with that same issue and it ended up being the ball joints and front end was out of alignment.. Good luck
