: Bully Dog High Performance Transmission
ChrisF 11-21-2004, 02:40 AM Bully Dog Trans... (http://www.bullydog.com/sale.pl?item=153600)
What upgrades are they doing other than there Shift Enhancer and converter??? they leave you in the dark on the site??? The price is more than Suncoast, Both with out the converter?
Diesel Power 11-21-2004, 03:40 AM it might be a place out of phoenix that's doing them... dunno if i'd go that route..
baimpala 11-21-2004, 08:00 AM Stick with the cheaper, tried and true tranny folks. The guys that do transmissions for a living chose them for a reason.

GMC2500HD 11-21-2004, 04:52 PM Have to wait till someone installs one to see how they run and what they will actually hold up to... Should be interesting...
dmaxalliTech 11-21-2004, 06:18 PM for 3700 plus conv ...so 4700 bucks and your only good to 550 rwhp?
I find it funny that they have to sell you a complete trans once you get past the little valve thing...
There is most of your money. Somebody send me one, lets tear it apart
ChrisF 11-21-2004, 06:38 PM Well I think it will be Suncoast Level III ):h
GMC-2002-Dmax 11-21-2004, 06:56 PM Make sure you check with one of the vendors...........here.

ChrisF 11-21-2004, 08:52 PM I am thinking of doing it myself... I have never rebuilt a trans but I have R/R a ton of them. ):h
Carbon04 11-21-2004, 09:11 PM Isn't the Bully Dog trans the "same" as the Quad trans in the respect that they are both done by local shops(to them). And isn't the bully dog conv. a single disc? How is that going to hold 500+hp? For all we know they are assemblying SCIII kits and calling it their own. Stick with a company first off with a positive reputation, second with a good warranty and willing to stick by it JMHO
What does Bully Dog and Quad have in common?
GMC2500HD 11-21-2004, 09:34 PM They both stole their ideas from someone else?
Trippin 11-21-2004, 10:48 PM They both stole their ideas from someone else? What he said!
baimpala 11-21-2004, 11:44 PM Where's that black eye smiley? That'd go good right in here. . .
sdaver 11-22-2004, 12:04 AM What does Bully Dog and Quad have in common?
Censored
theres no better customer service when it comes to trannys than Joe Webb at Suncoast:ro)
Amric 11-22-2004, 12:14 PM I am thinking of doing it myself... I have never rebuilt a trans but I have R/R a ton of them. ):h
The Allison is one of the easiest transmissions around to work on (short of its weight). I have done three of them so far, and each time learn something new to make the job go even smoother.

tony that is not being very fare-:t i have used these people for years and they have some great knowlegable people, hoot maybe called at a bad time, and as for how the outlook works, set up up last night for a freind, called today, he loves it, and he had a attitude, so i am not up on the tranny upgrade, but give them a call and ask, russel is who i use:ro) just giving the other side):h
GMC-2002-Dmax 11-22-2004, 09:44 PM Uhhmm,
All I said was to ask hoot..........how he made out........
I have been around for a while and have seen some things.......
I am not saying anything negative really.........just that there is 3 other proven transmission options out there........
That's my story and I'm sticking to it...........):h

fredw,
Ask your friend to verify if the "Hight bst" is reading correctly. So far from others I've talked to it 0-3.
I called BullyDog today and had a favorable response. They seem to at least listen to me. I'm in the process of returning the unit.
Carbon04 11-22-2004, 09:51 PM what i meant by the bullydog/quad statement was that they are both done else where and noone really knows what is done to them. And they are both over priced.
