I don't know why the beatles song is in my head, but no one has been able to assist me so far.
I've been fighting this battle since Dec of '06. I was in Co., driving 80 when my truck just suddenly lost power, threw a light and slowed to about 40 before the throttle responded again; couldn't give it full power. Limped it to a dealer in Denver to find out it was my injectors. Because of a Cadillac dash I had in the truck with wrong mileage, I had to limp the truck home, get the odo fixed, then get the injectors replaced. When I got the truck back, it fired right up, seemed okay. It still slipped under hard acceleration, but I knew my trans was shot (allison). Kept dealing with this until about May when I had to move my parents 5er. I'd had it, found an extreme allison from KD, never installed, purchased it and installed it. Still didn't resolve problem, now truck is slipping in every gear. I considered it a fuel system problem. Got a FASS 150/150 to supply the cp3 pump. Still didn't fix the problem. Talked to some guys at ATS, said it might be the mech fuel rail pressure release valve. No fix for it, so I took it out and welded it shut. No more problems of dumping rail pressure. Still didn't fix it. Took it to Houston Performance Diesel for a fuel rail pressure test (don't like my dealership anymore) Everything came out beautifully, FRP @ 103%. Bob from HPD used to be a dealer for ATS, said he felt it was the tranny. Talked to ATS, upon their advice, got a line pressure test done at Stewart & Stevenson, after my stealership said they could do it and couldn't...wasted 3 days of my time with that one. Line psi great, right at 300 like it should be. S&S said maybe turbo or crack in intercooler. Thought maybe so since my boost gauge hasn't worked in a few months. Not that. Back to injectors, got them tested, everything okay. Now actual fuel rail pressure isn't getting past 15000. Tried changing fuel filter again, even though it was done just 10000 mi ago. No change.
Guys, I am truly at the end of my rope here, Chevrolet is no help, no one else seems to know what is going on. Could it be the fuel rail pressure regulator? I think the code it is sending is a 0093 or 1093.. Can't remember which...It's "low fuel rail pressure under high demand"...something to that effect. I've spent hundreds of dollars fixing things that I've broke in the process of replacing or modifying, or purchasing even though I'd do it in the future anyway. My truck used to be something special to me, it used to run pretty hot, now it's a pain in my ass and I just want it to run like it used to. Thanks in advance.
