Well got a phone call from the dealer today and the dervice manager said well I got some bad news for you.....The area GM rep called him and said no power train warranty on my truck period....He said they have proof of my truck racing the 1/8th mile , there are photos on the internet to prove it... I said u got to be frigging kiddin me. I guess the service rep was at the drags and there was a company there taking pictures and they are posted on the internet so power train warranty void!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the biggest Crock OF SH!t i've ever heard in my life. please advise or i will be going to furd or dodge tomorrow and getting a new truck.....I dont have the time to fight this out with them..They have not flagged my vin # yet......Should i drive 10 hrs and get it fixed at another stealer or just say screw it and get rid of it?

Whats wrong with your truck?

Any mods?

Did you hurt something racing it and expect them to ante up?

I'm just wanting the whole picture here so I can give you my honest opinion.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

Where in the GM fine print does it say that you can't race your truck? I would fight this one just for the sake of fighting it. But that's just me.

No I have had injector issues for months and my wife ran it at the track about 3 weeks ago....The injector issue was there long before she raced it......Nothing was hurt racing it at all

hdd-max,

I cannot believe what I just read!

I believe the only alternative is legal action.

Question is what?

From what I remember reading--you can take them to small claims court--since the dollar limits are higher and could cover the cost of injector replacement.

There was another member here who posted--a while back--about doing it that way--you sue the dealership. They then have to send someone--usually the service manager. He felt this was the best way vs a lawyer and if you went in prepared--had a very good chance of winning.

You point will be--the injectors are known problem in US/Canada and GM is trying to get out from it. It was not due to driving fast.

Or you could bail and get rid of the truck.

I still cannot understand why the dealership is being such a hard A$$ about this?

Wow, that is very little for them to try to make a case out of. Seems they don't like selling trucks at that dealership...

I say BURN THEM!

Injector issues aside, who cares if the truck was on the track. Can they prove it to be modded?

here is my view...The truck was raced at an 1/8th mile track so what....your tellin me that a truck designed to haul around 15-20k pounds cant handle flooring the pedal for 660 feet then letting off the gas while empty......The weight is much harder on it then an empty flogging......Another point, I had the problem before the races documented by calling customer service months before the race took place.....MAN IT ONLY WENT DOWN THE TRACK 3 TIMES, WIFE REDLIT...HAHAHA.......About the mods If I were to put a tuner on my truck and i fried the trans because of too much power then its my bad and I would pay for it..........But a condition not caused by a mod, a well documented problem with gm injectors is not my fault.....I am going to decide in the next couple days weather to jump ship and buy one of the other two, I DONT WANT TO AT ALL I LOVE MY TRUCK BUT I CANT BE STUCK WITH SOMETHING WITH NO WARRANTY AND AN EXISTING COSTLY PROBLEM....and i dont really have the time or resources to fight it out with them in court believe me if i did I would in a heartbeat no pun intended....

Oh Yeah I Almost Forgot The Area Rep Told The Service Manager To Check My Obd-11 Port To See If It Looked Like It Had Had A Tuner Pluge In And Out Of It!!!!!!!!!!!! I Told The Service Manager It Wouldnt Be A Good Idea To Touch My Truck Right Now As I Was Pretty Pissed.

Ask your service manager if he ever had to step on the go-pedal for more than 660 feet from a dead stop before...........

That's just bad luck that the service rep saw the truck drag racing. There is no warranty block on the vin# yet so take it somewhere else soon.

Here's what the owner's manual has to say about it. But who's to say your problem was caused by racing?

What Is Not Covered (http://service.gm.com/servlets/BlobShtml?ShtmlFile=1206248&evc=sm&pubid=539&cellId=72602&mspsdsubkey=3064#ss2-1206248)

Damage Due to Accident, Misuse, or Alteration

Damage caused as the result of any of the following is not covered:

Collision, fire, theft, freezing, vandalism, riot, explosion, or objects striking the vehicle
Misuse of the vehicle such as driving over curbs, overloading, racing, or other competition. Proper vehicle use is discussed in the owner manual.
Alteration or modification to the vehicle including the body, chassis, or components after final assembly by GM.
Coverages do not apply if the odometer has been disconnected, its reading has been altered, or mileage cannot be determined.

"Damage caused as the result of any of the following is not covered:
.... Misuse of the vehicle such as driving over curbs, overloading, racing, or other competition...."

Looks like if you push it, they will have to prove the damage was caused by the racing.

Wow.. That is just unheard of. Really do not think they had the right to do that unless they saw it in person and not from pictures. There could be tons of trucks just like yours out there and that would make it hard to tell.... Good luck...

That's BS. Like you said, if racing did the damage, then it's your problem. Injectors couldn't be damaged by racing. Now, the curb jumping issue may get me. I almost always have to at least bump the curb every time I parallel park.:D

I Would Tell That Dealer That "you Can Shove My Business So Far Up Where The Sun Don't Shine With The Added Bonus That I Will Tell Every Local I Know To Never Buy From You Again Because You Do Not Back Your Product Worth A Flying ****!!!!!! And Then I Would Walk Out!!!!! Not Hang Up Because If You Do It When There Are A Lot Of Buyers In There You're Impact Is A Lot Greater.......have Fun With It .....i Would!!!!!!!!!!

I had trouble with a dealership over injectors and I took mine to molle chevy in Blue Springs and they are helping me fix it. You might want to give them a call and have them run your vin# before you make the drive. And I am still fighting my warranty problem now. Is it illegal for a rep to void my warranty because i had a programmer on my truck and my fuel injectors cracked, and I have heard i'm not the only one with this problem wit injectors.
