I just recently purchased an '08 2500. Is there just a tip I can buy to get rid of this hideous thing I've got now? I've searched and seen little to help me. I'd like to replace the exhaust but after reading of some of the problems I am not sure I want to touch anything. Diesels are completely new to me so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I thought I read people were having problems with exhausts. Is this only when it replaces everything?

I have heard of no issues regarding the DPF back systems. There has been some issues with the guys that have straight piped but, I don't know the details.

The design of the stock pipe is for cooling purposes. As stated in previous posts, MBRP is making 4" DPF-back exhausts. They will also be coming out with a 5" soon. The MBRPs have ribs for cooling. They look MUCH better than stock.

You can polish the stock one to a mirror finish if that would help any.

I'm not sure which member on here it was, but he cut the stock tip off just past the venturi. The he put a polished stainless tip on. The venturi still allows the exhaust to function as it would in stock form but certainly makes it look more appealing.
