I've got a buddy who's job is to drive a demo truck for a bike company up and down the east coast. Well his tow rig is a 3500Chev D/A. I'm pretty sure he's got a LLY and he keeps on complaining about the semi truck fuel pumps blowing fuel out of the filler neck. He heard from someone that you can pull some restrictor out of the filler neck and it'll flow fuel faster. Does anyone know anything about this? I figure with all you guys replacing the filler neck with highflow models that this isn't something that could be done or you all would be doing it. Just thought I'd ask since he mentioned it.

Yes ~ some have removed the longish plastic flex tube that directs the flow to the bottom of the tank. BUT still puked when filling up w/the big nozzles. So, you're right, might as well spend the bucks and do the transflo thing. Kinda curious as I've heard that the later trucks didn't experience the prog ~

I have not had a big problem. . . a couple burps when the tank is full, but no puking. . . but I have always been cautious as well. I always either hold the pump or just set it at the lowest setting and watch it. . . still fills pretty quick. Wonder if he's just setting it on the fire hose setting, if so tell him to set on the 'tinkle' setting.

BA, what did you do to yours so it would work with larger nozzles?

Mine's a 04.5. . . came with the big fill neck from the factory. . . I guess they figured it'd be more thirsty than your average truck . . . ):h
