Everytime I am stopped and try to turn my wheel, it feels like my power steering doesn't work and I gotta crank that sucker just to turn.....any suggestions?????

check the power steering pump sometimes the shaft gets broke and the pullly is turning but the shaft inside the pump is snapped.

Sounds like a typical GM hydroboost...since the steering and brakes share pressure..when you are stopped with your foot on the brake and try to turn it is very very hard...let off the brake and viola you can turn again...I always make sure I am rolling alittle before I try to turn.

8.1 is correct,
The Dealer just replaced my powersteering pump when they did the intermediate shaft. Very little difference in steering quality when applying the brakes. If you can ease up on the brakes a touch that will also bring back some of the powersteering
