I've seen these kits all over. Doesn't seem like there are any down sides to them. Why doesn't anyone talk about propane here? Anyone have a kit? Would this lower temps under higher boost?

I am adding propane in the next few weeks. I just received a switch that is variable between 1 and 4 psi to turn the propane on. I will run it a 4 psi to begin with. I will plumb the propane into the rubber conduit in front of the turbo. This will give me a vacuum, and will cause a better mix of air and propane.

was this kit made for the 6.5? The only kits I've seen are for 7.3, 6.6, and 5.9's. Our engines offer far less boost than these others. Does the control go that low? or did you get a special switch?

6.5L owners make their own. 12v propane solenoids are available from forklift suppliers.

Check out this member's web site for a home made system.

Propane will not lower your temperature, it will add a little but the power differance is notable.

I made my own system and you can do it for about $100.00 if you have a
tank available. It is manualy controlled by a switch right next to me
on the center console. I only use it when a Dodge or short steep hill
gets in my way.

The limiting factor with propane is to make sure you do not add propane
at too low an RPM. If you do you will have preignition and that rattle
can do damage to the wrist pin bushings.

the main question is, is how will adding propane reduce hte engine's longevity? This block doesnt have a whole lot of nickel in its alloy as I understand it....

Does the 2000 block have a stronger build to it? Reason i ask is i'm also thinking of propane to add some more performance. How can i tell the difference in blocks, good bad or otherwise?

A Powershot system works very well on the 6.5, and because the amount of propane is controlled, temperatures stay the same or are even slightly lowered.
