: Straight pipe looses power?

I have an mbrp 4" exhaust with delete pipe, no cat. My buddies told me I lost A LOT of low-end torque by taking the muffler off. I don't see how you can benefit from the muffler anyway it looks like a glasspack. Furthermore, it sounds like sh*t....if it's not straight piped.

You don't lose any power. You might move the power curve upwards, but you do not lose any power.

no power lose, only gains when you remove stock exhaust and replace with afermarket high flow systems.

Furthermore, it sounds like sh*t....if it's not straight piped.I put a full 4" system on my 03 and deffinately lost power. Killed my bottom end. I put my stock front pipe back on and left the 4" muffler and tailpipe on and regained my bottom end.
