Hey Everybody,
What tool do I use to remove the plug in the rear diff? It looks like mine takes a 10mm square bit to remove. I tried 3/8" socket driver and it was too small, and 1/2" driver was too big. Does that sound right? Where do I find a 10mm square male socket?
Thanks,
John

a 3/8" ratchet extention always worked for my old 10 bolt rear and works for my new 14 bolt. if it seems too small it may not be getting deep enough into it. i always have to dig mud and grease cakes out of mine with an awl or even a pen to get the extention all the way in there.
side note to Gotroxblazer: where in york are you located? i used to live in glen rock about 5 miles from the md line. cornfield county!Edited by: lupey6.5

I came across the same problem for the oil plugs in the back left of the engine. I am going to buy a allen head and cut it down to fit. I think it is 7/16".

I swear I used the 3/8" driver with an extension or something simple. I don't remember having to worry about it.

yeapper should be a 3/8 drive square. Might not fit real tight but should work.

Thanks everyone, I will take another look at it this afternoon. You guys said teh same thing as Jiffy Lube. I think I may just have to dig out some dirt and grime.
