Coming back from lunch today I had to get up to speed quick so I slipped my edge/attitude in level 5 and held it to the mats. Well once again I was lucky enough to get the 1093 code and my truck was limited to 2000 rpm http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley11.gif I have only had this happen 3 or 4 times but its always at the worst time.

I know my truck is not the only one doing it but I do know there are lots of have never had this problem. Why is mine special? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley7.gif

Normally I run in level 4 and I have never had it act up in level 4. So is this brought on by high hp tunes? Are we exceeding what the high pressure pump can supply? Maybe the sensor is just too sensitive to pressure drop?

Has anyone experienced this with any other tuners?

If I stack will this only get worse?

YES and YES. You need to upgrade the tranny if you are going to run the Juice over level 3 consistantly.

I am quite aware of that. That is not the issue I am talking about. The problem I am talking about has nothing to with the transmission.

I have never had it happen even stacked. I highly doubt that we are running these trucks low on fuel. It took about 500 hp on a 3rd gen cummins to completely suck it dry. The dmax pump and fuel rail are bigger I beleive. That being said....I don't know if anyone has tryed an inline pump yet.

I have seen the 1093 on several trucks, no rhyme or reason for it either. Some will do it on all levels, some only 5. I have reflashed two of these trucks with the latest LLY flash, and so far they haven't done it (6 weeks), but I am still skeptical that I will see them again. Most say it happens just after getting on it hard, then letting off.

i originally though i put mine into tranny limp mode but found out it
was actually the p1093 code, i've dont this 2 times once merging on the
freeway, a long level 5 pull then once pulling onto a road inlevel 3, a
3 gear to the floor acceleration...... both times the trans was on
defuel 4-5 only and low boost 5

im having the reflash done right now and well see if it affects it at all

i feel your pain Max as I have had this happen SEVERAL times also. Never fails, always at the worst time. It would happen with the J/A alone and stacked, didnt matter. However, since I got the reflash from GM all is well. No answers from edge yet on a solution.

Max - i had this happen a few times with the first edge unit i had. and
couldnt figure it out either. since then i have had the reflash,
2 new injectors, and a new edge unit and it hasnt happened yet ( knock
on wood ) - and ive hammered it pretty good, even stacked with the pup
on level 2 and edge on 5 it hasnt done it yet, and im hoping it doesnt
again. let me know what you find out

So it looks like the flash might have something to do with it. Perpaps something to do with the abnormal balance rates?

Has anyone ever had this happen with any tuner other then the Edge?

Max,

Have you had your LLY reflashed? To date I have not had this issue "yet" and yes, I've had the flash done.

No, I am quite happy with the way it runs and I'm afraid to mess with it. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif

So has anyone had the reflash done and still had problems with the 2000rpm limp mode?

Yes, but, I'm trying to find out if my ECM really was reflashed. After reading this thread I'm wondering. I didn't have a lot of confidence in the tech that did the reflash and I wasn't allowed to watch.

Anyone know how to confirm the reflash?

CntrlCalDmax, give me your VIN and I can see if you have the flash.

Max Power, get the flash, it really does make the truck run better. Smoother, more responsive, quieter. I have done many with no complaints. Some even say better mileage too. And best of all, I have gotten rid of all of my "Ghost P1093" trucks. I am not saying it is a cure for the P1093, but it is promising.

"Anyone know how to confirm the reflash?"

you can either hook it up to a tech 2 or have the vin checked, not sure if the vin check would actually tell you if it was done for sure though as that is just information that is entered and not what might have been done as you were assuming. the only way to know for sure is to use a tech 2

Ran mine in level 3 for months with no probs other than the fuel knock. Started running it in level 4 (quieter fuel knock) and bam got the P1093 the first day on level 4. Truck is going back to dealer Mon. for reflash (this time I am taking a printed copy of the bulletin to them). Still got the damn belt/pulley noise too! They replaced the idler pulley already! Only does it at idle!? Between this truck and the wifes '04 trailblazer we have had four trips to the dealer already (less than six months). My last truck ('98 Sierra) never went to the dealer for anything!

hey redneck, im experiencing the same thing with the belt at warmup only, i have the tsb for it - and the funny thing like you mentioned is they replaced the idler pulleys and belts when i had 300 miles and its still there. it looks like the culprit is the power steering pump / ac compressor bracket - #PIP3138 ( Sept 15, 2004 ). Ill have to get mine fixed again i guess

With a VIN I can go into TIS and see what programming the tech loaded into the tech2. I cannot verify that he actually put it in the truck, but if he spent the time to get the programming out of TIS, chances are good.
