I've got an 01 Dmax with 77,000 miles. I apologize if this question has already been raised, but the search function and last 11 pages of posts did not address it.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

What does a Change Oil Light right after start-up and sometimes during driving indicate? Dealer just changed the oil 2 weeks ago. Only noticed after temperature started to drop here in <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Ohio. No noticeable performance issues.

Did the dealer do something? Can lower temperatures cause this? Is the oil quality declining (ie diesel in oil)? Some sort of electrical problem? All of the above? Any of the Above?

Thanks for any input,

Sounds like they forgot to reset the Oil Life System. To reset it begin with the key off then turn on the key and press the accelerator pedal to the floor 3 times within a couple or three seconds. The light will then blink a few times and go off. That should take care of it. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif Edited by: a bear
