I finally got around to installing my PPE gauges in the Trippin overhead mount. I got everything hooked up and seems to be working but.... I am only seeing 20 PSI max boost. I am running the PPE xcelerator on level 3 with the EGR blocked and an AFE stage 2 intake. I am getting my boost reading from the Super Diesel manifold. After hearing what everyone else is seeing for boost, mine seems to be really low. Does the location of the SD manifold have anything to do with my low reading? I would have thought I would be seeing 25-26 PSI with the level 3 (160) tune. What else could be the cause of this. I don't beleive the tubbing is pinched because the gauge responds very quickly. Let me know what you think

What is your altitude? Are you really high up because that will effect it.

Ask Dan what it shoud be making for boost. I'm sure he will be able to help you.

stock you should get up to about 23-24 go back to stock and make a comparison. if you read 24 stock then the ppe is backing down the boost on level 3.

why would they back the boost down? Im cleaning my airfilter to see if that has an impact, then I will change it to stock.

Im seeing boost levels as high as 25-27 psi on my LBZ. No tuners, no intake system, no exhaust...

I have similar mods. When running level 4 I was seeing peaks of about 31 at WOT. I have not really watched the gauge since I moved back to Level 3. I will try to look next time.

I max out at 27 on Level 3 at WOT. I know I have read that the Stock airbox can flow more air then most of the after market Intake filters. Maybe your's is restricting airflow.

Do u still have your stock intake? If so, call dan @PPE and ask for some slight trimming mods to take out restrictions from stock intake. LBZ's intake is designed better than any aftermarket intake out there and u will get more HP from it if u follow his instructions!!!!!

I have some questions about boost. On my predator real time data I have a boost reading and an intake bost reading. What is the true turbo boost reading because they are off. the boost reading stays at about 17 psi and the intake boost reading spikes at 30-31 on WOT runs? Whats the difference?

My Edge Evo shows "records" and 26psi is the highest my truck has ever seen.

It saw 26psi totally stock, 26psi on all 3 (and now 4 levels of the Evo) and with and without the MBRP 4" turbo back exhaust.

I just replaced the stock air filter with an AC Delco unit (my airflow restrictor was about 50%, 21,000 miles, not much off road or dust...) and did the PPE airbox mod. Still at 26psi. I was thinking I'd get into the low 30's...

get a boost stick i just got mine about a week ago and love it. It cleaned up the exhaust on the high end a bit and keeps the egt's about 200º cooler on wot. I can get up to 110 mph on the highway and stay at about 1100º max when before it was a bit over 1300º. well worth the 100 bucks. oh and im using it with my predator on the 120 tune.

My gauge must have been sticking at first. I am seeing max boost between aprox 25 -28 psi now with the 160 tune.

Had a technician check the boost on my truck and when my gage was showing 21 psi, the tech 2 showed 31. ???????????????

Will that air box mod help with exhaust only (no tuner)?

My understanding is the airbox mod is only necessary when you start getting to tunes over 160HP. Below that the stock airbox still flows plenty of air.

Sounds good. I bet you would get more turbo sound with the mod though!
