Major rokkie here so bare with mehttp://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif

Well I now have a whoping 400 miles on my 05D-max http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

What a great truck, I'm lovin every mile. So I plan on taking a RoadTrip on Sunday. The family and I are heading down to PismoBeach for the Trukey week. It's about 300miles oneway from my place.

Should I have all the fluids replaced before or after this road trip? I have only had my D-max sence Friday night so all I have done to it is drive it.

Also, This is the first time I have ever drivin a diesel or owned one. So being a gasser footed person is there a tecnique in training my Diesel foot. I guess what I'm trying to say is "am I driving my truck right?" Seams my foot is hunting for the right amount of pressure to apply to the throttle when excelerating. any opinions would be great.

I can't find my stupid camera..I have been dying to post up a pic for everyone to see...I'm about to just go buy one..Thanks for your time

If you feel you aren't going fast enough, push harder on the gas......eh fuel pedal and you will be fine. Seriously you'll get used to the new sounds and feel in no time.

I personnally wouldn't change anything until you get back.

Watch that sand at Pismo with the heavy DMax up front. Lower those tire pressures.

I won't be taking my D-max out on the dunes, I normally have my K5 for that but I am currently swapping in a FI454 so just sand castles and beer for this trip hehee( we go every year for Turkey week and we stay in a beach side condo).

Thanks for your reply

A lot of people do the the first change of the rear diff fluid at 500 miles. I did. The fluid level is low from the factory to begin with and it only takes a few minutes to do so you might want to do it before you go.

Thanks, when you changed your diff fluid did you remember seeing alot of metal flakes or just a little bit? i am very familiar with R&P break-ins from working on my Blazer.
