Hello all, this site is great and I just wanted to throw out an idea I used recently when installing my Fumoto oil drain valve. (Hope it has not already been mentioned) I bought the valve with the spring clip to insure that the valve stays closed but I spent most of my time chasing the clip around the driveway after it shot off the pliers 20 times. Instead I opted to put a tiny hose clamp on the fumoto valve to make sure that it stays closed and that some wacko does not drop my oil on me and ruin my motor. Now I only need my flat head screwdriver and my oil filter wrench to do a oil change. Just my .02 thanks for all the info everyone.

The Fumuto valve works great for a clean oil drain that's for sure. I have had mine on for three years and never had a problem.I believe only the hardcore off roadies might have a problem with a accidental valve open but the conditions would have to be near perfect. As far as some dope draining my oil on me ,he'd have to know I had one and I doubt he'd recover the oil too. So there'd be a tell tale puddle under the rig.
Just my thoughts,Welcome to the forum.

I have a fumoto on my DMAX and my cummins. I play off road alot. If it was going to happen I probably could have done it. It's a really good time saving product just enjoy the convinience.

Get a set of hose clamp pliers. They have a notch in the jaws to hold the clip. Easy on and easy off.

Not sure if you have the type with the hose nipple or not but I tapped
the inside of mine and put a small brass plug in it. Keeps any road
gunk out and if the valve accidently got opened the oil would be
stopped by the plug. Got the plug at Home Depot.
