My dad just bought the tuner. And we were woundering. What is the differance between the 2.00 and the 2.02 verizions? We have the 2.00. And want to see if its going to worth sending it in to get the updates.
Thanks;

I think (If I'm not mistaken) is better DTC reading and clearing. It dosent add more boost but it fixed some of the problems that the early tunes had with driveability issues.
The most updated version is always the better option for any truck.

v2.02 adds the ability to disable the egr diagnostics. I don't think it adds to peak boost, bu tit does add a liitle boost across the entire rpm range to keep egt's a little lower IIRC. If you plan on disabling the egr and/or tow with the truck, it is probably worth the $60. I know I liked v2.02 better than v2.00 when I had my LLY.

I have the 2.00 and a Kennedy Diesel boost stick. I am happy with mine the way it is. If the truck you are putting it on has california emissions than get the 2.02 upgrade to stop the idiot light if you block the egr. If you have the federal emission setup than you wont have the check engine light coming on.
Did you buy this 2.0 new with a receipt? If so Diablo shouldnt charge you a dime for the upgrade.

i thought that the 2.0 didnt add any boost and that the 2.02 did add boost

When I was researching 2.02 vs 2.00 before buying mine, the differences I was able to determine were:
- boost spools up a bit quick and higher at a lower RPM, not necessarily higher boost at higher RPM. This was noticeable for me over stock.
- Addresses defueling between shifts (direct from the vendor), of course they wouldn't elaborate when I asked them. But I noticed definite defueling between shifts, especially when the tranny is learning, which it always is.... Don't know if it was like that with 2.00 version
- I was told EGR diag disable was available in both versions.
IMO, the 2.02 was the vendors "CYA" updates although the biggest benefit everyone seems to claim and I would definitely agree is the turbo spool up time and higher boost.
Overall, I like the predator alot, wouldn't trade it.... well maybe someday for EFI live.

Thanks...!
I wrote it to give the average Joe an idea of what each one feels like on an otherwise stock truck, not including the intake and exhaust.
Both programmers are good so either way you go, you'll be content.
