I just put new wheels and tires on my truck and they are slightly larger than stock, thus they stick out a wee bit and i am concerned about rock chips on the quarter panels. i was wondering what everyone else had luck with as far as rock protection. this is kind of what i was considering:
1) running boards
2) Nerf bars
3) 3M clear protective tape stuff
4) stainless steel rocker guards (i think that’s what there called)
5) or any combination of the above list
I don’t really want running boards because they make the truck look lower, i like nerf bars more but i am concerned that they might not protect at all. i was told the 3M stuff would work good but i am worried about it turning yellow after a few years and then needing to replace it. i like the looks of the stainless steal but worried about the areas it doesn’t cover and it getting pitted and dinged up after a few yrs. i was thinking about using the rocker guards then covering the remaining areas with the 3M clear tape stuff.
any input you have on how to protect my baby would be greatly appreciated.....thanks in advance.
