Does anyone have a grease gun that works every pump until all grease is gone - without fail? I've got two that are fustrating to use.


Also, is there an extended zerk fitting to install in the lower ball joint of the 4X4 2500HD that would give us better accessability?

motocoptor - lincoln used to make really good grease guns, but it seems
that lately they are on par with everything else on the market....hit
and miss.... You might want to look into a right-angle grease coupling
for your grease gun....I believe thexton makes one....It's available
from napa if you're interested, I'll get you the part number

Alemite makes some really good grease guns, even a rechargable one.

Always had good luck with Lincoln guns with the pistol grip and a flexible rubber hose. It always dispenses all the grease in the tube. Can easily get to all the zerks on my trucks, including those pesky pitman and idler arms. Got mine at Farm and Fleet.

The type of grease that you use also influences this. I use a heavier, stringier grease and my gun has fits and farts...

I used a dremel tool and deburred the edges off of the lower arm. Made getting the gun to zerk much easier.

You can't change out the zerk on the lower ball joint. The zerk is
incorperated into the ball joint and can't be replaced. Had to have one
ball joint changed already due to the ball bearing inside the zerk
being stuck open.
