I have an 02 2500HD, with an AFE stge 2 airfilter kit. I've been recently hitting Dumont Sand Dunes with my friends as we love to ride quads. It's very very dusty there and I've made 3 trips so far and decided to clean and re oil my air filter. I notice dmy sensor wasn't reading anythinga s far as green or red, it was int eh reset position. After doing a once over I noticed a hole in the air intake tube right behind the Sensor minder (sp?). It's a black plastic fitting with threads and has a cap, seems like ahose should be connected to it. WEll, as u can probably guess I could stick my screw driver right into the intake tube...I'm really worried because all that dust was being sucked intot he tube directly!!! I re oiled my filter and blocked the hole temporarily with duct tape. Does anyoen know what this hole is for? And why my sensor isnt readinga nything even after blocking the hole and re oiling my filter? I guesstimate I've been running it witht he hole for a month!!! :(

As you can see I took the cap off and theres the duct tape i used to seal it. Below you can see a wider view...withthe cap and tape on the hole.
