Hey fella's
Just a quick question on the max. width tire for a stock 16 x 6? wheel. I guess it is 6", I am running OEM 215x85-16 wheels. I posted a question before as to height of tires. Alot of guys replied with I could go 245x75-16 on the front and 215 85 on the back. Just want to make sure the new tires will fit on the OEM rim.

I believe that the wheels are actually 16x6.5 and I have seen guys run the 245s up front and 215's out back and it looks purty good. But, you can also run 235's all around which are wider than the 215s not quite as wide as the 245s. There is also the combo of 235's out back and 265's on the front....same idea as the 245's up front and 215's on the back. Lots of opinions on using 265's on a 6.5" wheel, but a lot of guys are running purty heavy weight with these tires and no issues.
There is also some discussion on whether or not it is harmful to run different size tires front and rear due to size difference (height, not width), but the different sizes are so close it is my opinion that this difference is inconsequential.
You were asking about the "widest" tire, so my answer is the safest widest tires are 265's all around. You can put 285s on these wheels but you are pushing your luck and I wouldn't do it!
Last but not least, if you use a tire any larger (width wise) than stock you will most assuredly require spacers to maintain adequate tire spacing between the rear duals. And before you ask... WheelAdapter.com either the 1.5" or 2" spacers.

Thanks for the info. I already have the 215's on the back, so the 245 on the front will work then.
Thanks again!
