I am curently running an edge evo tuner and i am looking for something that will stack and work well with this chip is there anything out there that will do this. Are any of you other edge evo users suffering from no low end power, say below 1800 or so rpms?

Thanks, luke

Luke if you are trying to stack on the truck in your sig, then it will not be worth your money. With the mods in your sig the Edge programmer will be maxed out on h/p due to the flow of the stock injectors. You might want to try a 10k mod, clean the fuel regulator screen. or a modded IDM. All three of these will help low rpm performance. What EGT's are you seeing? And how much boost? I do hope you have gages already:eek: right.

Let me find a link to describe it with pics. In the meantime go to Radioshack and get a 1/2-1/4 watt 10k ohm resistor. less then $5. It goes in the IPR circut and fools the PCM into boosting the psi of the high pressure oil.

cool, ill get a resistor today. i read in another forum that some people are using this with a switch in the cab, what do you recommend?

thanks, luke

Here is a link to my website, there are a few pics of the 10k in there. The photos will zoom in and give good detail. I soldered some very fine stranded wire to each end of the resistor and put heat shrink over the whole thing. I never had a reason to turn my 10k off. I had none of the idle issues some people talk about.
BTW in my site you will see a pic of the fuel regulator. Behind the brass hex plug is where you shim the fuel pressure regulator. Also if you remove the regulator from the fuel filter housing you will find the FPR screen that most likely need cleaning. Bazz's web site covers these two mods also. The combination of these three fixes/mods should result in an impressive power increase and virtually no turbo lag.

Here is a link to a site with a plethora of info on the PSD. Click on "tips & tricks" then scroll down till you see the article on 10k mod.I recomend adding this site to your favorites list, this guy has gone to a lot of trouble compiling his data base. It has a good explinations of what, why, and how to do many mods and repairs. As you can see by the article it was much easier to find a link, then to rewrite the instructions. Good luck with it.

i made up the 10k mod on a switch to see if i could tell a difference, i did but it was not good. This only gave me dead spots throughout the rpm range so i tryed this in a buddys truck and he had bad results aswell. The other two mods u suggested helped my low end power alot.

thanks for the info,

Luke

I have heard of people using other ohm rating resistors and some getting better results. ie; 8k or 15k. Considering the cost and ease of install it might be worth a try. Glad the other stuff helped.
