I'm not sure if this is normal but, when I take off from a stop it feels like the trans is in neutral and then drops into first. It's not bad but it seems like this shouldn't be normal. And when accelerating slowly first gear doesn't seem to pull like it should. When it shifts into second it feels like the truck finally found some power. All shifts are smooth including 1-2. Any help or insight is appreciated.

Sounds like your tranny is slipping. Do the rpm's rev up before it moves? I'm sure Mike L will give some incite.

The RPM's come up normally. As soon as I let off the brake it seems to "drop" into gear. Other than that everything seems normal.
