Ok if i wouldnt have bought the thing already and installed everything except the probe it would be going back. This is getting to be alot of trouble!
I am trying my best to avoid dropping 200 or so dollars on the magtek, even though I like it.
I was thinking about putting my sender in the fill plug location like autometer says. They send you a reducer that fits into the hole and the sender threads into the middle of which is great. The bad thing is it is the wrong thread pitch. Its regular pipe thread and the original one is fine threaded it looks like. I was wondering if anyone knew of any sources i could get a replacement coupler w/ fine thread...
Or maybe some ideas... I was going to drill a hole in the middle of the fill plug and tap that, i'm still thinking that. It's HARD metal though, i dont know if i have a bit that will survive that, and do you all think it would last or would it crack and leak rear fluid everywhere while i'm driving?

Thanks!

Any plumbing supply house. You can try Home Depot or Loews but a plumbing supply will have a way larger selection. Take the plug and sender with you and match em.

Ok, I went ahead and jumped the gun and drilled the drain plug itself... Man, that is some HARD Metal!!!!
it broke 2 drill bits and i couldnt get it tapped straight, I just threw in the towel. I was having busy being really mad at myself and went in to say hi to the wife so i can calm down.
She asked what was wrong, i told her i did something dumb trying to save a couple bucks. She laughed (this happens occasionally as you can tell....) and asked what she could do to help. I told her she could go buy me a magtek pan and she said "Sure!" I told her it was ok, i was saving for EFI Live and she told me to just go ahead and get them both.
I told her I'd be spending at least a grand and she said that was fine.
I never buy anything for myself, if it's a toy I'd like to have that she wants me to have it...
WOO HOO.
I am pretty stocked ;)
