Hello all,

My #7 injector was replaced today. My truck has 16,7xx miles on the odometer.

I took it in for rough idle/smoking and parking lot surge. It was also smoking heavily and running rough during high idle operation.

The balance rates were out of spec, I don't have the exact numbers.

This is the second time I have had it in for this problem. The balance rates were fine the last time it was in and they did the reflash at that time.

I have had a Nictane setup on the truck since it had 500 miles on the odometer. I ran stanadyhne performance every tank for the first 10k miles. Every tank of fuel was from high volume truck stops. My only mods are listed in my signature (ie no performance mods).

Not very confidence inspiring.

Well, I'm no expert, but I wouldn't blame GM. I've heard around here
that US Fuel sucks, and because the injecton system on our trucks (and
the new Dodges as well) is a European system, and that they have
cleaner fuel than we do, the junk fuel we have is destroying the
injectors... I know the balace rate on my #4 and #5 injectors is a bit
high as of Nov 12, but I don't think it's out of spec... yet.

Mike, Cougar's right on the mark. The fuel here is terrible.I would keep using the Stanadyne performance formula indefinitely. I haven't had any more problems with my LLY since using it. Mac
