Can some of you guys with LLYs with manual boost gauges post some pix of where you tapped in to pick up the boost readings?

If you go to my profile and look through my past post, you will see a post I made under the heading, Vacuum Line On LLY, open it up and you will see pictures that baimpala posted, showing where you need to tap into to get a reading, forget about using the T-Fitting that came with your gauge, your going to need to go to a place that makes and sells Hydraulic Hoses and fittings like I and others did, and buy a fitting like the one baimpala shows in his picture. I took the pipe that comes from the intercooler off the intake manifold and drilled and tapped the manifold just about an inch from the hose connection. The intake is downhill right there so that the shavings will fall out, and you can reach up in and wipe it out when finished to get every chip out. I tapped mine 1/8".

There is plenty of material to get a good tap. It is probably 3/16" thick.

I was just out looking about my truck and where you guys tapped in at. Is there any reason you didnt tap into the air horn that pipe connects to?

I put some heavy duty Lock Tight on the last upper threads before I screwed my fitting in just to play it safe, although I doubt if I needed to, because when I screw it in, it snugged up nice and tight, by the way I found a one piece fitting thats made from stainless steel, after you screw it in place you just push the little plastic hose into the top, and it locks it in tight then if you need to remove the hose you just push down on the locking collar which will release the hose.

Where did you find this? Do you have a part # or pix?
