I just unhooked my EGR, drove it around today and got 4 codes all related to the EGR. I scanned these codes with Hypertech. The only code that concerned me was P1404 which says "EGR Valve Pintle Stuck Open". Is this what I want or do I want it closed. When I unhooked the EGR, the truck had been setting in 45 degree weather for about 2 1/2 hours and showed to be cold on the temp guage. I started the truck up for approximately 15 seconds and turned it off. I then unplugged the EGR and taped both connections and drove it for 15 minutes, parked it for an hour and then drove it for another 10 minutes hard. did I do this right or do I need to plug it back in and re-do it a different way. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif
