: High idle
LLY MASS GUY 11-15-2004, 08:48 AM Hey guys new here but need a bit of help.I have a 04.5 lly and cannot get the high idle to work from the factory where does it show that it is activated been to kennedys website tried to enable/and disable a few times and will not work it has been under 30 degrees here any help would be appreciated.
02B12S 11-15-2004, 09:25 AM Think it's, turn key on, depress accelerator to floor, while keeping accelerator on the floor, hit the brake pedal three times in 15sec.
On the miles/tripmeter/hourmeter dispaly . you should see a message flash - "High Idle Enabled".
The same sequence disables the feature (toggles it on and off)..
This worked for me.. The feature will stay enabled until disabled by performing the sequence again.. A message will flash saying - "High Idle Disabled"
LLY MASS GUY 11-15-2004, 09:52 AM nope doesnt come up any ideas
DuckhunterInTN 11-15-2004, 11:18 AM This may be an obvious question, but you don't have steering wheel controls do you?
LLY MASS GUY 11-15-2004, 11:54 AM yes it does have controlsEdited by: LLY MASS GUY
Max Power 11-15-2004, 12:12 PM Then you can go into the menu with the steering wheel controls and turn it on. If I recall you press the top button on the right hand side of the bottom controls until you see elevated idle. The press the button below it to togle it on/off.
LLY MASS GUY 11-15-2004, 12:37 PM Max power tried all controls doenst come up at all for elevated idle.just does alarm/lighting accessorys and language.tried it with pedals again nothing.Any ideas
Max Power 11-15-2004, 01:15 PM Are you sure you have an LLY? Check the 8th Digit of your VIN. If it is a 1 it is an LB7 if it is a 2 it is an LLY.
LLY MASS GUY 11-15-2004, 01:51 PM It is a lly for sure
Max Power 11-15-2004, 01:54 PM It is a lly for sure
Then it accessible by the DIC and steering wheel controls.
If you can't find it double check your serial #. I know a few people have told me they have the LLY for sure but in fact they didn't have it.
LLY MASS GUY 11-15-2004, 03:28 PM it is without a doubt a lly i have tried the controls three times no luck we are just as much confused as you as we have two of these trucks
Max Power 11-15-2004, 05:33 PM Just out of curiosity, did you check your serial #?
LLY MASS GUY 11-15-2004, 06:22 PM yes
Kennedy 11-15-2004, 06:30 PM Scroll through using the "i" (Info) button till you find the elevated idle. Select "enable" to turn it on. You will still have to manually activate it following the destructions in the book.

LLY MASS GUY 11-15-2004, 10:17 PM I have tried the i button nothing.it is very strange no one around can figure this outhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif
Max Power 11-15-2004, 10:35 PM Well it is a function of all LLY's. If you have the DIC you should have the option. It would be almost impossible for it to not have that option.
If I had to bet, I would bet it is actually an LB7. But since you say you checked the serial # that can not be the case. So I would suggest that you take it to the dealer and have them fix it.
LLY MASS GUY 11-16-2004, 04:07 PM this is not a a lb7 we have two lly and had 2 lb7 but it will not work on this one i have tried everything went thru the helm manual also
Rippem 11-16-2004, 04:25 PM I didn't have to do anything manually. Just enable it in the DIC. Works fine for me.
Kennedy 11-16-2004, 04:30 PM LLY Mass Guy,
Try again with the info button. Should give you all kinds of choices like door locks, alarms, seat options etc. At least the LT's do...
baimpala 11-16-2004, 04:52 PM I'd say at this point you have a problem with your truck. If you
have another LLY, it sounds like you already know how to do this, so if
the option isn't available using the same procedure that you've used on
the other truck. . . problem. Take it back to the dealer and have
them reprogram it (hypothetically) or something. . .
ve7edl 11-16-2004, 10:08 PM Sorry for the dumb question but after you enable the high idle, will it automatically engage when the weather gets cold enough or do you have to go through the same procedure every morning?
Max Power 11-16-2004, 10:18 PM It will automatically idle up when the proper requirements are met.
